Key points:

  • Check sessions notes after each session: http://seahiker.com/content/sensational-freestyle-vancouver-aquatic-centre-4-week-program-may-2010
  • Practice between pool sessions!
  • Use them to help guide your practice by exploring what we covered in greater detail or working on things you feel you need more experience with.
  • If you can't get to a pool between Tuesday and Thursday sessions, look to practice dry land drills at a minimum.
  • You are looking to supply your coaches with more information on how you feel with the exercises and drills, sensations, questions and any obstacles, or successes you've experienced. Feel free to email or phone us to discuss!

Dryland:  Breathing Issues and Full Stroke Coordination

Today's session was a review of general questions to wind up the course.

Pool Focus: Review of primary drills

We went through all the main drills that we have developed during the course: glide posture, single switch, full stroke without breathing, full stroke (breathing to one side, every second stroke), and full stroke with breathing. The focus of the session, like any general practice, was to identify the tendencies (habits) that are inefficient and find ways to focus on them best within a range of simple to complex movements or drills

We have sent the final post-course practice guide to you by emai, if you have not received it, please let us know.
