Program Summary:

Learn Essential Open Water Skills and Training Techniques in the Pool!

In this pool seminar presented by Peter Scott and Tyler Zetterstrom, you will learn:

  • The most common open water swimming mistakes and how to fix them
  • How to prepare for the mental challenge of swimming triathlons in a lake or ocean
  • How to swim in close contact with other swimmers
  • How to optimize your sighting, navigation, buoy turn, steering, pacing and drafting during your pool practices

 

Sea Hiker coaches will show you what you need to do hit the water next season with confidence.

Schedule: 

 

7:30 - 9:00 pm (please be on the pool deck by 7:20 pm ready to swim and bring your wetsuit for later, if you have one)


Cost: $50 + GST. Note: Swimmers who attended the Sensational Freestyle weekend course in March 2010 get in for free. Contact us for more details. 

Prerequisites: 

Participants should be comfortable in the water and be able to swim freestyle for 50m or more.

What to bring:

Please bring swim goggles, fitted swim suits (ie. not baggy shorts), towels, snacks, hot tea or water, if desired. If you have a wetsuit, please bring it as we will be using wetsuits in part of the session. 

A swim cap is often helpful to retain warmth. 

Participants under 18:

If you are under 18 years of age, you will need a parent or guardian to sign your liability waiver form when you arrive for the  program.
