Not sure if you're using a catch, pull, or anchor? Do you suspect that you could swim a lot faster if you arm stroke was stronger or somehow more effective, but you don't want to waste energy? Stuck in one gear?

Sea Hiker coaches will lead you through a session dedicated to presenting the catch and stroke mechanics clearly so that you can swim faster and faster every time you swim.

In this three hour session, you will learn:

  • Key dryland exercises for an effective catch
  • How to eliminate windmilling, sore arms, overdone s-pull, poor grip, and dropped elbows
  • Best body awareness drills and exercises for the catch and storke mechanics
  • An understanding of what the catch is and how to apply it to your current swimming
  • How to develop a catch that will increase your speed
  • Important core strength and coordination exercises that will enhance how you take each stroke
  • How to practice and train for an integrated stroke
  • Help with key obstacles in arm stroke mechanics and how to overcome them
  • Detailed home study notes for practice after the clinic

You will leave this session with a profound understanding of the best way for you to practice optimal coordination and timing of the catch, specific stroke and catch mechanics, and learn the key skills of the fastest swimmers.

Prerequisites: 

Previous instruction from Sea Hiker required! Exceptions:

  • For competent swimmers with a solid understanding and practice of technique, please contact us to discuss the suitability of this course.
  • For swimmers with a competent execution of Total Immersion swimming technique.

Able to swim 50-100m with relative ease.
